Coleman Technologies Inc. is an employee owned business founded in 1995 to provide computer networking and Internet services building on corporate and employee experience in aerospace systems engineering services. By building on the rigors of aerospace systems engineering, CTI provides a differentiated level of service over its competitors. CTI's corporate offices are in Orlando, Florida and currently employs over 120 individuals. CTI also has offices in Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, Tennessee as well as supports projects in other cities. CTI focuses on industries with large scale, distributed networking needs, such as healthcare, utilities, national commercial, and regional governmental organizations. In these industries we have found that elusive mix of a customer with (1) a technically challenging problem, (2) the desire to see that problem solved correctly, and (3) the financial resources to solve the problem. We have also found fortuitous timing in working with these organizations.
These larger organizations were among the first to adopt a networked environment in order to augment and offload mainframe processing and data distribution. The technology employed in these networks is fast becoming obsolete and the requirements imposed by new network applications are forcing a rather rapid and significant infrastructure modification. In many cases, this requires a major network migration or wholesale replacement of the network from wiring plant to core switches. Most recently this has also included a migration from traditional telephony systems to voice/data converged solutions. The systems engineering heritage of CTI positions our company to design and implement these solutions for the customer.
Historically, CTI has been responsible for design, implementation, and technical support of numerous networks that were comprised between several hundred to ten thousand nodes. The majority of our effort has been with larger networks of several thousand nodes utilizing diverse network technologies or which have high availability requirements. We have implemented most data networking technologies including ATM, Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, and Token Ring. Our systems engineering heritage makes us ideally suited to thoughtful planning and practical implementation of complex networks where downtime or poor performance is intolerable. We pride ourselves in being able to work efficiently with customers in bringing particular expertise or simply quality work to the table.
In addition to network engineering, we have a significant software development capability. We provide customized software solutions to customers, typically augmenting services provided by in-house IS organizations. We focus on the development of database applications and/or applications with extensive graphical content.
Over the past year, CTI has leveraged network engineering expertise, recent advances in miniaturized GPS receivers and communication devices, along with first hand experience of staff members to produce the Advanced GENeration Tracker (AGenT). This device is a small, lightweight, highly capable GPS-based tracking device in use by several law enforcement agencies some of which include the FBI, DEA, and ONDCP. A key feature of the AGenT family of products is the use of an imbedded micro controller separating communication operations for GPS tracking. This allows a flexible communication architecture supporting cellular (AMPS), radio modem (RAM - Mobitex), CDPD, and various other RF technologies.
Canal Geomatics has distribution rights for products in Canada and the United Sates.
