NovAtel Announces World's Smallest Dual Frequency GPS Receiver

2010-05-26

(Calgary, Alberta, Canada, May 26th, 2010) – NovAtel Inc., (NovAtel) an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of satellite based precise positioning technology, announced today the latest product in its OEMV® receiver product family, the NovAtel OEMV-1DF. At only 46mm x 71mm x 13mm in size, the OEMV-1DF is the industry's smallest dual frequency GPS receiver to provide centimetre level, high performance RTK positioning.

Weighing only 21.5 grams and consuming less than 1.1 Watts, the OEMV-1DF is ideal for size constrained applications. It is available with scalable software upgradeable functionality, including NovAtel's AdVance® RTK which provides reliable centimetre-level real-time positioning. As with all NovAtel OEMV products, the OEMV-1DF features the widest operating temperature range and highest resistance to humidity, shock and vibration for applications in harsh environmental conditions. The OEMV-1DF also features enhanced interference rejection for consistent GPS positioning and measurements in the presence of jamming signals.

Sharing an identical form factor as other OEMV-1™ series cards, and with common interface commands, integration efforts of the OEMV-1DF are minimal for new and existing NovAtel customers.

Steve Duncombe, NovAtel's Vice President of Sales commented, "The OEMV-1DF offers the same high performance RTK positioning that NovAtel customers are accustomed to, but with an ultra-compact and power efficient platform." Adding, "Customers can design any OEMV-1 series receiver into their application and have drop-in access to all product line features for the ultimate in GPS positioning scalability."
