The SkyNav GG12W from Trimble is a GPS and SBAS all-in-view receiver built specifically for the aviation industry. It integrates with ground-based reference stations for GPS aircraft landing systems (LAAS and SCAT I), Technical Standard Order Flight Management Systems, and other avionics. The GG12W also follows FAA/RTCA design criteria.
The software has been created according to RTCA DO-1788 Level B requirements. Both software and hardware are certified according to RTCA DO-208 and RTCA DO-229D standards. The receiver operates reliably in SBAS differential or autonomous mode. This makes it suitable for all flight phases, such as precision approach. Code and carrier data are provided for operations at ground reference stations.
Anti-jam capability is built into the RF hardware. The receiver conforms to the CWI standard specified by RTCA DO-208 and DO-229D.
The unit tracks as many as 12 satellites with a reacquisition time under three seconds. Ten of the channels are for GPS and two for SBAS. Satellite selection follows RTCA/DO-229D requirements.
