The DSP-3400 Fiber Optic Gyro from KVH is one of the company’s DSP 3000 family, which offers trustworthy and rugged design. The DSP-3400 adds a robust, shielded housing and 1000 Hz synchronous output to its RS-422 interface. This makes it a sensible option for operations where FOG output needs to be transmitted over a long distance.

The whole DSP-3000 series is built around the company’s proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology. This advanced electronics design eliminates analog signal processing limitations, which overcomes rotation problems as well as temperature-sensitive drift.

Digital Signal Processing also provides noticeable improvements in performance, such as stable bias and scale factor, linear scale factor, repeated turn-on to turn-on, and high input rate.

The units produce very low noise, are insensitive to cross-axis error, and resist shock and vibration. This makes them suitable for use in critical industrial environments, such as systems for tracking inventory automatically where goods need to be transported fast and safely in warehouses.
