Overview

The 1750 IMU from KVH is a very small yet highly precise inertial sensor that is meant for independent applications where power use, weight and size must be kept to a minimum. Ultra low-noise accelerometers are combined with the smallest fiber optic precision gyroscope in the world to create a commercial-grade system with advanced repeatability and bias stability. The unit is equipped with RS-422 protocol.

The 1750 IMU is not only easy to use, but also user programmable. Data output rates can be selected from 10 to 1000 Hz. Baud rates can be adjusted, too.

The unit can be integrated into new equipment or dropped into existing products as a replacement component. Applications include precision pointing, optical equipment as well as many guidance and navigation systems.

The rugged design ensures great functionality in thermal, vibration and shock conditions. Accurate performance is ensured in severe environments and mission-critical operations such as remote weapons, radar stabilization and weapon platforms. Other applications include motion sensing, navigation, oil and gas exploration, mapping/surveying, flight controls, EO/FLIR stabilization, AHRS, autonomous vehicles, GNSS aiding, as well as antenna/camera/laser pointing and stabilization.
