Overview

NovAtel’s compact 3GOXX16A4-XTR-1-1-Cert antenna offers dual-frequency GPS capability. Because it handles both L1 only and L2 dual-frequency GPS applications, it is flexible in use and reduces expenditure for equipment.

Dual-frequency systems have special benefits. When two different satellite observations are made it is possible to model and reduce the ionospheric errors that affect GPS observations negatively. In addition, it is possible to resolve RTK ambiguity faster.

While the unit was conceived of especially for use in helicopters and airplanes, its feather weight and small size also makes it convenient in mobile operations.
