Overview

The IMU-CPT Inertial Measurement Unit from NovAtel features a Fiber Optic Gyros (FOG) and Micro Electrical Mechanical Systems (MEMS) accelerometers to deliver a stable and long life navigation solution. The IMU-CPT contains commercial components, which reduces cross border issues that often arise with traditional GNSS/INS systems.

The IMU-CPT can be paired with NovAtels SPAN-SE or OEM6 series receivers to offer a SPAN solution, which combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to deliver accurate and stable 3D results.

Moreover, the IMU-CPT can be used with NovAtel’s AdVance RTK and satellite based augmentation systems such as L-Band and SBAS to further enhance its real-time results. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer post-processing software are available.
