The NovAtel IMU-FSAS Inertial Measurement Unit from iMAR GmbH delivers tactical grade performance. It is suitable for applications where a standard GNSS receiver alone may not be able to provide the results they need. It can be used for ground or airborne survey applications and does not require a formal authorization when it is exported from certain countries, including Germany and Canada.
The IMU-FSAS can be integrated with NovAtel’s SPAN-SE or FlexPak6 receivers to offer a SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) solution, which combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to deliver accurate and stable 3D results, even during short periods when satellite signals are unavailable. For ground applications, an optional wheel sensor encoder is available.
Moreover, the IMU-FSAS can be used with NovAtel’s AdVance RTK and satellite based augmentation systems such as L-Band and SBAS to further enhance its real-time results. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer post-processing software are available.
