The NovAtel UIMU-H58 is equipped with a Honeywell HG1700 IMU, which features ring-laser gyros and servo accelerometers. It is capable of delivering gyro performance levels from one to five degrees per hour.
The UIMU-H58 can be easily integrated with NovAtels SPAN-SE or FlexPak6 receivers to offer a SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) solution. IMU data is fed to the receiver via a custom NovAtel interface. The SPAN technology combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to deliver accurate and continuous 3D results, even during short periods when satellite signals are unavailable.
Moreover, the UIMU-H58 can be used with NovAtels AdVance RTK and satellite based augmentation systems such as L-Band and SBAS to further enhance its real-time results. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer post-processing software are available.
