The NovAtel UIMU-LN200 Inertial Measurement Unit features an IMU from Northrop-Grumman and delivers tactical grade performance. It is equipped with a closed-loop Fiber Optic Gyros (FOG) and solid-state silicon accelerometers, and is well suited for airborne mapping applications.
The UIMU-LN200 can be easily integrated with NovAtels SPAN-SE or FlexPak6 receivers to offer a SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) solution. IMU data is fed to the receiver via a custom NovAtel interface. The SPAN technology combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to deliver accurate and continuous 3D results, even during short periods when satellite signals are unavailable.
Moreover, the UIMU-LN200 can be used with NovAtels AdVance RTK and satellite based augmentation systems such as L-Band and SBAS to further enhance its real-time results. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer post-processing software are available.
