The Apogee-D: High Accuracy GNSS/INS from SBG Systems is an affordable, MEMS-Based, ITAR free Inertial Navigation System that incorporates the latest tri-frequency GNSS receiver supporting RTK, TerraStar and Veripos positioning services. This highly versatile MEMS-based INS comes with one or two GNSS antennas.
Apogee-D delivers a real-time heave calculation, which is accurate within five centimetres. For added ease of use, there is no need for the user to input the wave frequency, as the system will automatically detect and correct it as required.
Apogee-D is also outfitted with a delayed heave feature, which does not require any additional software. This feature allows for a more precise heave calculation, accurate within two centimetres, and displayed instantaneously.
Apogee-D has several marine, land and aerospace applications. Its sensors are compatible with all hydrographic software, making it a great choice for the stabilization of multibeam sonar systems, the navigation of Unmanned Surface Vehicles and georeferencing, among other things.
The system is an ideal choice when precise heading is required in land vehicles and when there is a baseline of at least ten metres. Apogee-D can also endure GPS outages, since the GNSS/INS combination can still provide accurate positioning information when combined with an odometer. This same technology allows it to provide accurate heading during long steady flight phases, and to deliver precise position data for accurate navigation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and advanced payload stabilization.
