Canal Geomatics proudly carries the SBG Systems Apogee-E, a high quality, high accuracy inertial navigation system. When connected to a survey grade GPS/GNSS receiver, the Apogee-E provides highly accurate navigation data. The system fuses GNSS information with inertial data to provide the very best performance, and features a distinctive GNSS error model which takes into account all receiver specific behaviours.
The Apogee delivers a real-time heave calculation, which is accurate within five centimetres. For added ease of use, there is no need for the user to input the wave frequency, as the system will automatically detect and correct it as required. The Apogee-E is also outfitted with a delayed heave feature, which does not require any additional software. This feature allows for a more precise heave calculation, accurate within two centimetres, and displayed instantaneously. The delayed heave allows the Apogee-E to function in difficult sea conditions. When it can access Precise Point Positioning (PPP) services such as Marinstar, TerraStar or Veripos, it can provide accuracy up to ten centimetres.
When combined with a GPS/GNSS receiver, the Apogee-E also has a variety of land and aerospace applications. In land vehicles, when the system can access Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and PPP, it has the ability to determine precise position as a result of the combination of Inertial Sensors and GNSS with odometer data. It has been designed specifically to be incorporated in aerial mapping systems to deliver unparalleled position, timing, and navigation accuracy.
