Overview
The OEM-ADIS-16488 Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) from NovAtel is a commercial MEMS IMU integrated with SPAN technology designed to delivers 3D position, velocity and attitude. It’s a compact unit featuring low noise MEMS gyros and accelerometers in a sealed enclosure, allowing it to be used in harsh environments.
When paired with NovAtel’s SPAN technology, which combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to provide accurate and stable 3D navigation solution, the ADIS16488 is capable of delivering a continuous and precise 3D navigation solution even during periods when satellite signals are not available.
NovAtel’s MEMS Interface Card (MIC) can be used to connect the ADIS16488 to a SPAN receiver, such as the compact OEM615. Its board stack configuration design allows of easy integration.
Moreover, the OEM-ADIS-16488 can be paired with NovAtel’s AdVance RTK to further enhance the real-time results of the unit. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer post-processing software are available.
